A beautiful French Art Nouveau locket with an intricate repousse flower basket design on the front. The locket is gold filled, and was manufactured by the French jewelry company, Savard & Fils, in the early 1900's. They used a technique for their gold filled pieces which rival the beauty of solid gold, and are often mistaken as such. The company hallmarked their pieces, "FIX". The locket opens on the side, and has its original covers for your photos. The back of the locket is plain. The locket is in excellent antique condition.
It is suspended from a handmade chain of amethyst, pearl, pink topaz and tourmaline, and vesuvianite. Each stone is wire wrapped with gold filled wire and the locket is suspended from a gold filled, antique style Albert chain allowing the locket to be detached. There is also a small gold filled lobster claw clasp at the back, for easy on and off.
