Beautiful, smooth polished Ethiopian opals in a plump rondelle shape are hand knotted on silk cord and finished with a solid 14k gold lobster claw clasp. Select the size you prefer in the drop down menu, or purchase both for a beautiful, layered look. Each stone was hand selected for your necklace, individually strung, and then hand knotted just for you! The opals are a generous size and measure between 5 and 6mm.
Ethiopian Opal Care:
Ethiopian opal is hydrophane (from the Greek meaning “water loving”) and absorbs liquids, much like a sponge would do. Because of this, the stone can absorb liquids that will damage its color properties; any water it absorbs should dry in a day or two without damaging the stone, but it is recommended that you do not wear your Ethiopian opal jewelry while bathing, or swimming, and avoid submerging them in water. Be aware that oils, soaps and chemicals (including perfumes), if absorbed, may stain the stone, changing its color or damaging its signature play of light. Clean the stone with a soft cloth. Never clean using soap, chemicals, oil, steam or ultrasonics.
With proper care, you should enjoy the beauty of this necklace for years to come.
