A beautiful medal of St. Joan of Arc which was designed by the French sculptor, medalist, and engraver, Henri Becker. This highly detailed medal has designs on both the front of the medal, as well as the reverse. Produced by the French jewelry company, Savard & Fils, they used a technique for their gold filled pieces which rival the beauty of solid gold, and are often mistaken as such. The company hallmarked their pieces, "FIX" and I have been collecting their jewelry for at least a decade. Highly collectable and sought after, this medal is in excellent vintage condition, with only some sign of wear to the bail.
The hand fabricated chain consists of tiny links of gold filled cable chain and rainbow moonstone. A perfectly neutral look, while adding just a touch of shimmer, this piece is wonderful worn on its own, or layered with other pieces.
The chain measures 18" and the medal measure 29mmx24mm
