An ancient symbol depicting a snake eating its own tail, the ouroboros is a symbol of renewal, the eternal circle of life. Used in jewelry since Ancient Egypt, the ouroboros symbol (and snake motifs) became wildly popular during Victorian times, thanks to Queen Victoria. Whatever the Queen did, people followed, she was quite a trendsetter in her time!
The pendant is handcrafted by artisans in Bali, Indonesia, and is sterling silver with a heavy plating in 24k gold. More gemstone charms can be added for an additional cost, please inquire.
The necklace measures 18" in length, and the pendant is suspended from a hand knotted silk chain of metallic black spinel.
