These Ethiopian opals are different from many that I’ve worked with recently in that they are more opaque and have what I like to call a “glow”, rather than fire or color play within the stones. To accent their lovely lavender tone, I hand knotted them on lilac silk. If you love the look of moonstone, these are somewhat similar, but with a touch of lavender, rather than blue that is often seen in rainbow moonstone. At 18” in length, and a sterling silver clasp, this is a beautiful everyday piece that would be a perfect “neutral”.
